(I also happened to win the sixth grade “Be Drug Free” rap that year, so rapping was always an alternative.) I was born in Colorado Springs to an American soldier from Oklahoma and a Korean orphan from Seoul. I grew up in Newport News, Virginia. I currently live in Maryland.
